My Thanksgiving Thanks

I’m reading tons of Facebook posts about the daily “thanks” that people are thankful for this holiday season and it is very inspiring.  I was going to sum up all of my “thanks” in a short Facebook post as well; however, I don’t think I can fit everything I want to say into a quick summary in a post that will be gone and forgotten about by the end of the day.  I think a blog post will be better :)

I have been blessed…no, BEYOND blessed in every aspect of my life!  Here are my top “thanks”:

1.  I have an amazing guy in my life that I have been lucky enough to call my husband, my best friend, my soulmate.  He saved me in more ways than one and showed me how to love and be loved in return.  I am thankful for Travis’s talents, his kind and loving spirit, his support, his strength, his patience, his tolerance, and most important, his love (because I’m NOT an easy person to love, let alone like)   :)

2.  The older I get, the more I realize how important family really is to me.  My mom and dad are always there for me and I have the best in-laws, who are pretty much my second set of parents.  I’m thankful to have another “one more year” with my grandfather, who is getting very old and his health is a steady decline.  I am so thankful for my dad’s full recovery from last year’s scary incident.

3.  As much as I am not a people person, I do cherish a few special relationships.  I’m so grateful for those unexpected encounters that turned into such cherished friendships. These few people have touched my heart in such a way that I will never be able to express how much I appreciate them. I hope they know who they are.

4.  I am thankful that God gave me this passion, this obsession, this crazy L.O.V.E. for Ballroom dancing!  I have been blessed by the opportunities He put before me so that I can pursue this dream of mine.  I am thankful for my health, especially that my back allows me to keep dancing. I’m thankful for the instructors and coaches who have crossed my path over all these years and all the things I’ve been able to learn from each and every one.  But most important, I am so thankful for the one instructor that has made and continues to make all the difference, because without this one, my dream would be dead right now.

So there you have it….My Thanksgiving Thanks!
