Waiting for the Storm to Pass

The past several months have been stressful for me based on elements beyond my control that turned my happy, perfect dance dream up side down.  My future dance vision that I created inside my head seemed like it was crushed and I didn’t know what to do or what to think.  It felt like I was about to loose my dream, my obsession, my passion, my love (dance) and I was freaking out.  I’m one of those people that jump to conclusions and makes assumptions quickly, acting/reacting based on emotion, more often than not, without thinking things through.  It might seem like I was over reacting, and many would agree, but to me, it really felt like my whole world was coming to an end.  Travis, aka my personal psychologist (as I like to refer to my husband from time to time), helped me get through what seemed like a hopeless, depressing time.  He is the one that thinks logically (for the both of us) and can make any situation possible to overcome.  He reminded me of all my blessings associated with dance and that’s what I forced myself to focused on while I waited for the harsh storm to pass…

Storms always pass.  It just takes time and patience.  When they do finally pass, things become clearer so you can move forward.

I’ve re-evaluated my dance dream and realized that it hasn’t changed, even though these past events made me believe otherwise. The only thing that changed and will always continue to change is the path lets me live my dream.  Dance is my life and this whole thing is a journey. It’s a life time of learning, overcoming challenges, accomplishing goals, and dealing with changes that will teach me how to adapt so I can continue to grow as a dancer and become so much more!  I am so incredibly blessed to have the opportunity and ability to dance, a wonderful husband that supports me 100%, and an amazing instructor that believes in me.

As long as my desire and passion to dance still burns, there is no storm that will stop me from dancing.  I’ll just have to wait for it to pass :)
